Beliefs and Vision

Harvestwood Covenant Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America and therefore we have a Presbyterian form of government. What we believe is fully based upon the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, which we believe is the authoritative and unchangeable Word of God.

We believe the Lord has placed us on earth to glorify Him. Therefore, it is our goal to grow in grace in such a way that every aspect of our lives will be based upon God’s Word.

We also believe that the Lord has placed us in this community for a purpose. God wants us to experience His goodness and grace, but also to exhibit that to those around us.

Jesus described His will for our lives when He said to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” and “love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:27,29) The ministries of Harvestwood are intended to help us to glorify Him by fulfilling these two commands.

We embrace the teachings of historic, orthodox Christianity: the Trinity, the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, his substitutionary death on the cross and bodily resurrection, the doctrines of free and sovereign grace, salvation by grace through faith, the return of Jesus that will be bodily and visibly to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself, just to name a few.

Our congregation holds to the Biblical teachings as summarized in the documents of the Westminster Confession of Faith, The Westminster Larger Catechism, and The Westminster Shorter Catechism.
