History and Location

Our church is a beautiful, rural, Christ-centered congregation that was started as a mission church of the former New River Presbytery of the PCA (now the Blue Ridge Presbytery) in 1984.

The first meeting took place in March of 1984 in the home of Rev. Riley W. Ware who later became the first pastor of the congregation. After a while, a single-wide was purchased and the first meeting in that building took place in April 1985. The first meeting in the beautiful and current church building we have now was on July 21, 1991. Pastor Ware retired honorably in January 2005. We received our second pastor, Rev. Theo van Blerk in September 2008.

We are located in the small mountain community of Floyd, Virginia, which has an agrarian and artistic population of about 14,000. The church is located about five miles outside of the county seat, the town of Floyd (population. 500), which is conveniently located to Roanoke, about 30-45 minutes to the northeast, the city of Radford and the towns of Christiansburg and Blacksburg, about the same distance to the north. Both Lynchburg, VA (east) and Greensboro, NC (south) are about two hours away.

We hope you will visit and worship with us soon on a Sunday morning or even come and join our several Bible studies and prayer meetings on a Tuesday night (Meadows of Dan), Wednesday night (at the church), and Sunday mornings before worship. We believe you will find a warm and inviting fellowship of believers.
